Wood-Ridge is conveniently located near many major roadways and provides easy access to the rest of Bergen County and beyond. There is an extensive transportation system in Wood-Ridge, and the town has its own stop on the Passaic Valley Line of the New Jersey Transit system. This line connects commuters to the Hoboken Terminal, Secaucus Junction, and trains and ferries to the World Financial Center and New York's Penn Station, as well as the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail service. During morning and evening rush hour, The Pascack Valley Line serves as a single-track line that provides service to and from Hoboken for faster commutes to Manhattan.
The Wood-Ridge Public School system educated students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Children in kindergarten through fourth grade attend the Catherine E. Doyle Elementary School and students in fifth through eighth grades attend the Greg R. Ostrovsky Middle School. High School students attend the Wood-Ridge High School, which also educates students from the neighboring borough of Moonachie.
