Nestled in the heart of Northern New Jersey sits Boonton Town which is situated just southeast of Boonton Township in Morris County, New Jersey. Boonton was originally formed within portions of Hanover and Pequannock Township's. This town encompasses just over 2 square miles of land where more then 8,000 people reside. The Rockaway River
flows through the downtown section of Boonton and forms a spectacular short gorge
with impressive whitewater rapids including a high waterfall.
The Boonton Public School District has 4 schools operating within it's town limits. School Street School serves kindergarten through third graders, John Hill School educates the fourth through sixth graders and Boonton Middle School serves the seventh and eighth grade students in Boonton. Boonton High School educated the ninth through twelfth graders from Boonton and Lincoln Park, New Jersey (and surprisingly the Lincoln Park students account for a majority of the population in Boonton High School).

The Boonton train station provides service on the NJ Transit Montclair-Boonton Line, with service to the Hoboken Terminal. New Jersey Transit bus service is provided on the 873 local route, while the Lakeland Bus Lines provide express bus service to Port Authority in Manhattan.I 287 and Route 202 run through the center of Boonton Town.
